Lumineers
Some patients' dentition allows for a highly conservative alternative to traditional porcelain veneers known as Lumineers. You may have seen Lumineers commercials on television. This brand-name option is popular because it requires no preliminary tooth preparation. With traditional veneers, the front surface of the teeth to be veneered must be slightly reduced to accommodate the thickness of the restorations. Lumineers, however, are very thin and require no tooth preparation prior to placement.
Dr. Ma will discuss your case with you and provide all of the information you need to make an informed decision as to which type of porcelain veneers you'd like. Keep in mind, Lumineers are not the best option for every patient. Furthermore, porcelain veneers can be placed with minimal tooth reduction, which is a compromise between no-prep and traditional veneers.
